Correlation of electricity production from oil sources and greenhouse gas emissions (CO2, CH4, N2O, HFCs, PFCs, SF6) by country and year in South America

Updated: 93d ago

This scatter chart displays electricity production from oil sources (% of total) against greenhouse gas emissions (CO2, CH4, N2O, HFCs, PFCs, SF6) (Mt of CO2 equivalent) in South America. The data is about countries per year.

Legend

This chart uses 3 fields, including filters:

  • Region: Region the country is situated within.
  • Electricity Production From Oil Sources (% of total): Sources of electricity refer to the inputs used to generate electricity. Oil refers to crude oil and petroleum products.
  • Greenhouse Gas Emissions (Co2, Ch4, N2o, Hfcs, Pfcs, Sf6) (Mt of CO2 equivalent): A measure of annual emissions of the six greenhouse gases (GHG) covered by the Kyoto Protocol (carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4), nitrous oxide (N2O), hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), perfluorocarbons (PFCs), and sulphurhexafluoride (SF6)) from the energy, industry, waste, and agriculture sectors, standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values. This measure excludes GHG fluxes caused by Land Use Change Land Use and Forestry (LULUCF), as these fluxes have larger uncertainties. The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
